Nickel weekly

A nickel weekly from 1901, this is number 132 in the popular “Secret Service” series featuring “Old and Young King Brady, Detectives” which started January 27, 1899, and came out like clockwork every Friday for more than two decades... by which time well more than a thousand issues had been published.  The Bradys In Wyoming; or, Tracking the Mountain Men has the New York sleuths travel to Wyoming for a rare vacation duiring which they plan to do some sport hunting, but instead they witness the results of a horrible attack by a gang of evil “mountain men” led by an outlaw named Bill Martin.  The Bradys and their Ute guide, Kuno, resolve to put off their hunting trip until they have brought the outlaw leader to justice.

At more than 22,000 words, this novella-sized work of pulp fiction gives the reader a taste of what the masses were reading in the late 19th and early 20th-century time period.
